2025 Scholarship Information:
2025 COAP Outstanding Central Oregon High School Senior Scholarship
Central Oregon Association of Psychologists (COAP) presents a local scholarship opportunity. Three total scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $1,800 each to Central Oregon area high school seniors. Four honorable mentions will be honored in the amount of $300 each.
Please fill out the information below when you are ready to apply.
Application Deadline: May 31, 2025, submit by 11:59 PM PST.
Do not place your name or any identifying information on your essay.
The recipients of the scholarships will be notified in July. An announcement and essays of the recipients will be placed here on the COAP’s webpage. You may view previous recipient’s essays down below.
The scholarship can be used at the student’s discretion for books, tuition, room and board, or other college expenses. The money is to be used in the student’s freshman year and is not renewable. The recipients are asked to write a note to COAP during their freshman school year sharing how the funds were used for their higher education.
This scholarship will be offered yearly if funds are available and scholarship committee members are available for the review.
Before filling out this form, please have available (see form below for more details):
1) Copy of your current high school transcript. A 3.2 unweighted GPA is required.
2) List of all your contributions to the local Central Oregon community.
3) Letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, advisor, or someone that can attest to BOTH of the following: A) your character and work ethic, and B) your academic performance. Please make sure that both A) and B) are addressed in this letter.
4) Letter of recommendation from #3 with your name each time it is used redacted so that the scholarship committee readers can read it without knowing the student's name. #3 refers to a clean copy of the letter of recommendation and #4 refers to a marked up copy with your name redacted each time it is used.
5) Essay in 500-750 words addressing the below prompt and answer both A) and B) of the prompt. This needs to be your voice, and no use of AI. Please make sure your title is on the top of at least the first page of the essay. Remember do not place your name or any identifying information on it. You will be disqualified if your name is on the essay, if your title is omitted from the essay, if AI was used, or if you do not answer both A and B.
Essay prompt:
A) Describe a time in your life that has shaped and molded who you are as a person.
B) Detail how this event will inspire and motivate you as you go forward in your life.
